Brule Scores First Goal as Coyote

Standard Spin: Gilbert Brule notched his first points as a Coyote, scoring a goal and chipping in an assist in a  6-1 drubbing of the Avs on Monday.  Brule was claimed off waivers from the Oilers a week ago, and he's now played 3 games for the 'Yotes.

Don't expect Brule to get on any type of streak though.  He's not seeing enough ice-time to be a fantasy factor, and he spent the first half of the season in the AHL.  Not to mention, we just don't think Brule is all that good.  He's one of those guys that had tons of skill and promise back in his junior days but seemed to peak back then and never really progress.  Keep an eye on his evolution in Phoenix in case the change of scenery suddenly ignites something, but don't think that one decent game signals a career turnaround for the former first round pick.

By the way, Shane Doan and Boyd Gordon each had two goals in the game as well, while Rostislav Klesla rounded out the scoring.  (Jan.17)
