Busy Night for Goalies who Produce 3 Shutouts

Standard Spin: It was a busy night Thursday with 11 games on the NHL schedule, and we saw 3 goaltenders blank their opponents and earn the fantasy bonus points.

Craig Anderson was stellar for the Senators, stopping 32 shots in a huge 3-0 win over the Rangers.  It was his first shutout of the season, and it confirms Anderson as one of the surprise breakout fantasy performers between the pipes in the first half.  If you jumped aboard the bandwagon, well done.  Anderson has been an absolute workhorse, starting 14 of the Senators' last 16 games, and also bailing out Alex Auld in one of the games in which he didn't get the call.  He's posted a 10-3-2 record over that span, with a 2.38 GAA and a .923 SV%.  Amazingly, he's still available in 32% of Yahoo leagues - check out his post-game interview below.

Antti Niemi was also perfect for the Sharks, turning aside 24 shots to lift the Sharks 2-0 over the Jets.  He's been hot lately, having lost only once in regulation in his last 13 appearances.

And Miikka Kiprusoff was the only interesting thing about a 1-0 snoozer against the Ducks.  He made 23 saves before Blair Jones broke a scoreless tie 1:51 into OT, and Kipper continues to post respectable fantasy numbers in spite of the Flames' struggles. (Jan.13)
