Chimera and Laich Continue to Figure in Offense
Standard Spin: Jason Chimera scored two more goals and Brooks Laich had 2 points in the Capitals loss to NJ on Friday. Chimera now leads the Caps in goals, while Laich sits just 3 points back of Ovechkin in the team's scoring race. Sure Backstrom is playing at about a point a game, but Ovechkin (24 points in 33 games) and Semin (15 points in 30 games) are playing like their careers are winding down. Strange days in Washington for sure, with many a fantasy season ruined because of it. Of note: Kovalchuk scored his 11th and picked up his 16th assist in the win. (Dec.24)
