Marc Staal Still Not Hitting Stride

Standard Spin: What a disappointment Marc Staal has been in the 12 games he's played since returning from a concussion.  He has exactly zero points, is minus-4, and he's only logging an average of 17-minutes per game.  Rangers coach John Tortorella told NHL.com, "I am not going to force the minutes with Marc...  He's still very inconsistent.  To me, it's going to be like that for a while.  It's well-chronicled that when guys miss camp, holding out or whatever it may be, it's a struggle all year long.  This is a guy that's missed camp and missed a ton of time after camp."

By the sounds of it, fantasy owners shouldn't expect the situation to change any time in the near future, especially if the Rangers keep winning.  Staal should be on the bench for now, and he'll have to remain there unless Torts decides to ride him harder later in the year. (2/1/12)
