Mike Comrie Retires

Standard Spin: Mike Comrie announced his retirement Monday, citing a third hip operation and saying he could no longer withstand the rigors of NHL play.  Comrie had several solid fantasy campaigns playing for the Oilers, Flyers, Coyotes, Senators, Islanders and Penguins.  His best season arguably came in his sophomore year in Edmonton in 2001-02, when he posted 33-goals and 60-points, numbers that he never surpassed again.  It was the one and only time he managed to play a full 82-game season and, while he did put together another 60-point year in Phoenix, injuries ultimately derailed his career.  He finishes with 365-points in 589-games.  (2/13/12)
