Recent Fantasy Forward Recap

(3/14/12) There have been a number of strong performances over the past couple of days.  Here are our fantasy hockey pool game notes from recent action:

Monday:

Tyler Ennis scored 2 goals, and David Desharnais had 2 points in his return from injury, as the Sabres won 3-2.  Stafford and Cole both had 2 point nights.

Phoenix and Nashville produced 9 goals in a 5-4 Nashville win.  One of these two teams will likely make the second round, and very well could have to go through the other to get there.  Just take a look at the potential playoff production.

Tuesday:

Andy McDonald scored again and remains one of the hottest forwards.  He has 9G, 17 points in 17 games since returning from concussion.  He is also on a 6 game point streak (4G, 5A).

Jarome Iginla and Logan Couture both hit the 30 goal plateau on Tuesday, while Joe Thornton surpassed 50 assists.  That's back-to-back games where the Sharks' offense has clicked.  Thornton has 7 points in his last 4 games, Couture 3 goals in 2, Marleau 3 points in 4.  Taylor Hall has goals in 3 straight games - he's now up to 26 on the year.

Danny Briere led the Flyers Tuesday with a goal and an assist.  Good news to see that, especially with the playoffs around the corner.  Jakub Voracek also scored - he has 3 points in his last 2 games.

The Richards (2G, 1A), Gaborik and Hagelin (1G, 2A each) line in NY is looking primed and ready for the postseason.  They led the Rangers to a 4-2 win Tuesday.

Sean Bergenheim came to life in Florida on Tuesday; he had 2 goals, his first in 8 games.  Wolski had 2 assists, and since joining FLA has 2G, 5A in 10 games.  Wolski is currently playing on a line with Marcel Goc (2 points Tuesday) and they are getting some PP time.

Finally, Justin Williams, Kopitar, Brown and Jeff Carter all had 2 points in LA's 5-2 win over DET at home - this after losing to the Red Wings just 2 games prior.
