Roster Update: Kelly, Stuart, Radulov and 2012 UFAs

(14/6/12) With the Stanley Cup decided, the next big events looming on the fantasy hockey pool horizon are the NHL Entry Draft (June 22nd) and the July 1st "free agent frenzy."

There are many big name players available this summer, but some of them will sign with their current teams prior to July 1st.  Those signings are starting to happen.

First, Chris Kelly is expected to officially announce that he will re-sign with the Boston Bruins for three years and $12 million.  Kelly is coming off one of the best seasons of his career.  He recorded 39 points in 2011-2012, up from 28 the previous season.  The Bruins are waiting to make the announcement until July 1st for salary cap purposes.

Defenseman Brad Stuart is now a San Jose Shark - well sort of.  The Red Wings have traded away his rights to the Sharks after negotiations in the Motor City came to a standstill.  Stuart is expected to sign on in San Jose shortly, and he is reportedly excited about the possibility of playing for the team that originally drafted him.

Winnipeg has re-signed Jim Slater to a three year deal worth $1.6 million per season.  Slater had a career high 21 points in 2011-12.

Alexander Radulov's rights have been picked up in the KHL by CSKA Moscow.  Radulov is also a free agent in the NHL, now that he's finished the final year of his deal with Nashville.  He will likely wait to see what happens on July 1st before making up his mind regarding which league he will play for in 2012-2013.

Other notable unrestricted free agents this summer include: Zach Parise, Alexander Semin, Jiri Hudler, Denis Wideman, Ryan Suter, Teemu Selanne, Ray Whitney, Shane Doan, Olli Jokinen, Mikael Samuelsson, Jason Garrison, PA Parenteau, Sheldon Souray, Ryan Smyth, Jarret Stoll, and Dustin Penner.
