Jonathan Quick Records 10th Shutout

(4/3/12) On Monday, Jonathan Quick became the first goalie this season to reach double-digit shutouts, back-stopping the Kings with 19 saves in a 2-0 win over the Oilers.  He's been one of the hottest goalies in the league over the last few weeks, as it was Quick's third goose egg in his last six outings, and he's only allowed more than two goals one time in his last ten starts.  Besides being his tenth shutout, it was also Quick's 35th win.

With the victory, the Kings take a stranglehold on a playoff berth.  They currently sit in the three hole in the West, which would mean a likely matchup against the Blackhawks, although the Predators or Wings are also possible dance partners from that position.  With that said, nothing is set in stone.  The Stars (89 points), Sharks (90 points), and Coyotes (91 points) all have a game in hand and are within striking distance to topple the Kings (93 points) from their Pacific Division perch.  Because of the logjam, LA could still finish anywhere from third to ninth in the West.
