Nabokov Incredible in Shutout
Standard Spin: Evgeni Nabokov was brilliant Tuesday, stopping 45 shots through regulation and overtime, then remaining perfect in the shootout to steal a 1-0 win from the Flyers. He's now 6-1-0 over his last seven starts, and he's allowed only eight goals over that stretch.
As the trade deadline approaches it's hard not to wonder if he won't be moved to a team in contention. As noted by Pro Hockey Talk, Nabokov is 36-years old and is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, and it seems like Garth Snow's master plan is actually coming together. A trade definitely makes a lot of sense from the Isles' perspective, and Nabokov could provide excellent insurance for a Cup contender, or help a team on the playoff bubble looking to make a push.
