Good Times Roll for Elias, Kovalchuk, Parise

Standard Spin: Just like the New Jersey Devils as a team, Patrick Elias, Ilya Kovalchuk, and Zach Parise are right back where they belong: scoring goals and winning games.  In his 1000th career game on Friday, Elias recorded a goal and 2 helpers, while Ilya Kovalchuk scored twice and Zach Parise had a goal and one assist.  Elias leads the Devils in scoring and sits 23rd in the NHL with 37 points in 39 games.

All of these players are incredibly consistent and, while the NHL's suprising fast starters start to fall back, these guys will continue to plug along and collect points the same way they have for the last decade.

Of note: none of the Panthers' top guns scored on Friday, while Mikael Samuelsson did.  His presence appears to be splitting the offensive chemistry that the Swamp Cats had before his return from injury. (Jan.7)
