Injury Update: Daniel Sedin, Zajac, Semin, Anderson, Wisniewski...

(3/23/12) There are a number of injury notes to report as we enter the second to last weekend of the regular season, so let's get right to it.

First, Daniel Sedin is out indefinitely with a concussion thanks to the elbow of Duncan Keith. This is a MAJOR blow to fantasy owners. Sedin was showing signs of life over the past few games, but his season - and with it perhaps the Canucks' hopes of a return to the Finals - is now in jeopardy. Our advice: place Sedin on the reserve bench and pray your backup plan works. It is expected that Keith will receive a hefty suspension.

Travis Zajac is close to returning. USAToday.com is reporting that Zajac is participating in full team practices and that he could return within days. Zajac has missed nearly all of the season; he re-injured his Achilles back in December. His return is similar to the Radulov signing, as he will play a prominent role with the Devils in the post-season.

Craig Anderson (OTT - G) and Jason Spezza (F) return to action Friday for the Senators. Anderson is recovered from his unfortunate hand injury, while Spezza has been dealing with the flu.

Washington forward Alexander Semin is participating in practice again. He's been dealing with a LBI, but should return soon. Keep tabs on this as re-entry could simply occur at game-time, although he not expected to play Friday.

The flu is going through the Chicago dressing room. Ray Emery (G) sounds like he should be dressed on Saturday, while Jamal Mayers is currently day-to-day with "an illness." Marcus Kruger (F) is also out for the Hawks, although it's because of a UBI from Wednesday's game.

Jimmy Howard (DET - G) is possible for Saturday, he has been in and out of the lineup with a groin problem. Ty Conklin has been filling in, as Joey MacDonald continues to be out with a back injury. Also, Niklas Lidstrom (D) has a good practice Friday and, depending on how he feels, is a probable start on Saturday.

Some concussions to report: James Wisniewski (D - CLB), Andreas Nodl (BUF - F) and Jared Spurgeon (MIN - D) are all out with concussions. Taylor Hall (EDM - F) is skating and could be back this weekend.

Other notes: Clarke MacArthur (TOR - F) is suffering through a UBI and is listed as out for Friday, while teammate Matt Frattin (F) has a sprained ankle. Curtis Sanford (CLB - G) is out for the rest of the season due to a torn quadriceps. Erik Johnson (COL - D) is day-to-day with a back problem. Matt Niskanen (PIT - D) is day-to-day with a UBI thanks to a hit from Jordan Tootoo, while Carlo Colaiacovo has a LBI and is also day-to-day. And for the Jets, Nik Antropov (F) and Eric Fehr (F) are both out with short-term ailments.

Good luck with your moves this weekend.
