Jonathan Toews Out Tues - Hand
Standard Spin: Hawks' superstar Jonathan Toews is out for Tuesday's game against the Predators and is doubtful to appear at the All-star game. He injured his hand in Saturday's contest and went to the dressing room early. Chicago coach Joel Quennville told ESPNChicago.com, "We've got some time off here and some extra days and hopefully (Toews) can progress. We'll get a better assessment after the All-star game." Quenneville also indicated there was no "defining blow" that caused the injury, and said "it wasn't serious," but he did confirm that Toews is out.
It's obviously a blow to fantasy owners to lose one of their studs for a week, but is it possible an injury could actually help Toews? If a player has to get injured, it couldn't really come at a better time. He should only miss one game, and he gets to stay home for an extra week of rest instead of travelling to the All-star circus. We could change our tune if Toews isn't healed and ready for a post All-star game return, but let's hope this means his legs are a bit more fresh for the second half. (Jan.23)
