Ribeiro, Tanguay, and Co. Back in Action
Standard Spin: Several players returned to action from injury Tuesday, including the Stars' Mike Ribeiro, who notched an assist in his first game back from a slight MCL tear that cost him seven starts. He put in a full day's work, logging 20+ minutes, and came through fine. He's safe to insert back into starting lineups.
Alex Tanguay was also back for the Flames, as he managed 17+ minutes and a couple of shots in his return from a neck injury that had him out for 15 games. Calgary doesn't play again until after the All-star break, so Tanguay has a little extra time to rest, but the nature of the injury has us a little concerned for him the rest of the way. If you're in a real pinch, go ahead and start him next week, but if you have other options, it might be smart to gauge where he's at for a week and go from there.
A couple of defensemen also found their way back into lineups, as Sami Salo returned for the Canucks after a a six-game hiatus - concussion - and Christian Ehrhoff was on the ice for the Sabres for the first time in 11 games - upper body. Both players logged full minutes in their regular roles and can be returned to fantasy lineups. (Jan.25)
