Jimmy Hayes a Rookie on the Rise

Standard Spin: Hawks' rookie Jimmy Hayes played his 10th NHL game Wednesday - he was called up from Rockford December 30th - and his 2 points (1G 1A) in a 6-2 win over the Sabres Wednesday give him 7 points over that span.  It's especially impressive because he's getting it done in spite of averaging less than 12 minutes of ice-time per game.  

Hayes is a product of the US college system and is an imposing presence on the ice at 6'6", 221 pounds.  He has surprisingly good hands for a big man, makes quick decisions with the puck, and has a scorer's instinct around the net.  He's still a little bit raw, but he's caught our attention as a potential pick-up for owners needing to fill a rookie spot.  Check out his goal below...
