Canucks' "D"-livery

Standard Spin: Ehrhoff who?  The Vancouver Canucks continue to have one of the best defenses in the league, including their offensive leader from the blueline Alex Edler, who collected another assist on Saturday.  However, the story from Saturday - and how he wasn't one of the 3 stars of the game is beyond us - was Kevin Bieksa.

With the Canucks down, the goalie pulled and a minute to go, Bieksa made a diving save to stop an Avalanche empty-netter that would've sealed the deal for Colorado.  And then, with 34 seconds to go, he wired a wrist show top shelf to send the game to OT.

Bieksa's career highs are 12G, 32A and 43 points (not all in the same year).  At the 55 game mark of this season he has 5G and 23A.  He's healthy (knock on wood) and contributing to the void left by Ehrhoff.  He has a real chance to eclipse his career high in assists and points and, in most leagues, any defender who can notch 40 points on the season has fantasy relevance.
