Habs' Andrei Kostitsyn in the Dog House?
Standard Spin: Canadiens forward Andrei Kostitsyn played only a handful of shifts Monday, seeing a little more than four minutes of action. It's a season-low for Kostitsyn, and Habs coach Randy Cunneyworth said after the game, "at certain times, we were looking at the matchups and trying to get certain people out there. It becomes a little bit of that, but also we need some bigger efforts on occasion. Turnovers become paramount."
Considering Kostitsyn only saw one shift in the third, combined with Cunneyworth's thinly veiled post-game displeasure, we'll say the erratic Russian is officially in the coach's dog house. Kostitsyn has only one point in his last six games, and over a longer stretch he has only 6-points in his last 17. He should be firmly planted on the fantasy pine, and we wouldn't blame owners who ship him straight to Siberia. (2/14/12)
