Nabokov Shuts Down Caps

Standard Spin: The Capitals would have had trouble scoring on a cardboard cutout goalie tonight - they could only muster 17 shots in a 3-0 loss to the Isles.

Thanks to Washington's anemic offense, Evgeni Nabokov picked up his first shutout of the season and his second straight win.  Nabokov has been seeing workhorse duties as of late, but Al Montoya is close to returning from a concussion and is likely to take the job back when he does.  Maybe Nabokov can fend Montoya off with a few more performances like this, but more than likely the situation will end up as a time-share with neither goalie being much of a fantasy contributor down the stretch.  (Jan.18)
