St. Louis, Purcell, Stamkos: Lightning Strike

(2/27/12) Following the team's 8-1 drubbing at the hands of the Pittsburgh Penguins just one day before, the Tampa Bay Lightning stormed their way to a 4-3 win over the NJ Devils on Sunday.  Martin St. Louis led the way, scoring a hat trick, which included a PPG and the GWG - he also picked up an asisst for a 4 point night.  After a slow start to the season, Marty is beginning to creep up the points ladder.  He currently sits in 17th with 58 points in 57 games, with a point/game average that is finally beyond 1.0.

Teddy Purcell not only had a terrrific 3A performance, but he is currently on fire riding a 6 game point streak in which he has collected 4 goals and 9 assists.  Purcell has 18 points in his last 11 games!  Steven Stamkos has been white hot all season, and his current trend is no different: with 2 assists on Sunday, he has 6G and 7A in his last 6 games.

Other game notes: Ponikarovsky, Sykora and Parise scored for the Devils, and Adam Larsson returned from injury.
