NHL Central Scouting's Final 2012 Rankings
(4/10/12) NHL Central Scouting has finalized its rankings for the upcoming 2012 Entry Draft. Nail Yakupov (Sarnia - OHL - RW) retains the number one spot as the top North American prospect. Ryan Murray (D) of the Everett Silvertips (WHL) slides to #2 and Mikhail Grigorenko (QMJHL - C) drops to #3. Interestingly, Alex Galchenyuk (Sarnia - C) moves up to #4 after not being listed in the midterm rankings. He suffered a devastating knee injury in the preseason, and managed only 2 games (4 points) in 2011-12. Moose Jaw (WHL) defenseman Morgan Rielly rounds out the top 5 North American skaters.
The top goalies on the board from the two respective lists are 1) Malcolm Subban (North America - Belleville - OHL) - and yes he is PK's brother, which alone speaks to his quality - and 2) Andrei Vasilevski (Europe - Russia Jr.). Vasilevksi has helped Russia medal in the the past two World Junior tournaments.
