VID: Kopitar Gets Rocked (DAL v. LA)

Standard Spin: Anze Kopitar got absolutely blown up by Brenden Morrow in Thursday's Kings-Stars tilt.  He took the brunt of the blow on his shoulder, but spun awkwardly and went head first into the boards.  He lay on the ice for several minutes afterward, and he's officially listed with an upper-body injury.

According to ESPN, Kings' coach Darryl Sutter said of Kopitar's injury, "He'll probably be fine...  I'm not the doctor and I'm not Kopi.  He told me he was fine, so that's what that means."

Still, watch the video for yourself.  It definitely doesn't look good, and it certainly wouldn't shock us to discover that Kopitar and Sutter underestimated the injury.  We won't say the "C" word until we hear an update, but Kopitar owners should be holding their breath right now.

As for the game, it was a fantasy feast - a 5-4 Dallas win in the shooutout.  Loui Eriksson scored twice and notched one during the penalty kicks.  The aforementioned Kopitar continued in the game and finished with 3 points and a shootout goal.  Michael Ryder had 3 points of his own, and Justin Williams had 2 assists.  (Jan.13)
