Williams Defying History

Standard Spin: Justin Williams has received his fair share of the quips regarding his injury-plagued career.  There was a stretch from 2007-08 to 2009-10 when he played in 131 games out of a possible 328.  It seemed as though stepping on the ice for the pre-game warm-up was a risk.  However, Williams played in his 47th game of the year on Tuesday versus the Canucks, which is every LA game this season.  He recorded his 9th goal (his 3rd in the last 5), also got one in the shootout, and now has 31 points this year - not the flashiest total, but decent enough.  If he can play the entire season, following a near full campaign in 2010-11 (73 games), he may deserve a more solid shake at next year's draft, although isn't keeper material by any means.  Knock on wood. (Jan.18)
